Digital Business Student receives the prestigious President’s Medal

This is a very special post, proudly celebrating Lubnaa Aamirah, recipient of two awards: the President’s Medal and the Academic Excellence Award!

This is a truly proud moment for the Digital Business Management BComm program, and for me as the Program Coordinator as it’s the first time a student in our program receives this very prestigious award.

The President’s Medal is awarded to one graduating student in each Faculty, who has made a significant contribution to their Faculty and to Humber College by demonstrating leadership and participation in both the academic and student life of the College while maintaining a strong overall academic record.

I met Lubnaa virtually when she was in her first year during Covid, behind the screen and from her home country, eager to engage and get involved.

Lubnaa was a key member of the Digital Business Student Association and was involved in several initiatives: hosting the weekly DigiCafe’s, developing the “Women Entrepreneurs” initiative, facilitating “Conversations with Grads” among many other extracurricular activities that aim to build and enrich our community.

Lubnaa is also an active member of the South Asian Student Association and the Muslim Student Association, where she organized events and workshops that promote cultural awareness and community building. She collaborated with the Student Life team to co-host workshops centered around equity, diversity, and inclusion with the aim of creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

She did all the above while maintaining a strong overall academic record, and a big smile! I am so excited to see what the future holds for you Lubnaa … You make us proud!!

On behalf of the Digital Business Management BComm program and all of us at the Longo Faculty of Businesses, congratulations and thank you for all your contributions to our Humber community.
