During the Fall 2023 Semester we launched this collaborative project where students from three courses worked on the following business ideas: Gennections, Mobile Café, and Vital Flavours.

The Entrepreneurship students created a concept, an idea to work on and develop as a prospective business venture. The Web Developers and Copywrites developed websites for the projects to strengthen their online presence and to have a platform where information about the business can be explored. Gennections is about creating a space for individuals from different generations to connect and learn about and from each other. Vital Flavours being a business for meal planning for seniors with dietary restrictions where fully cooked meals are tailored to those restrictions and delivered to their doorstep. Finally, Mobile Café provides the café experience to busy students and workers.

Artificial Intelligence was used throughout the projects by MSCP 1000 and BUS 2504 students developing media to enhance their respective websites, to create engaging content such as images and videos through the use of the tools Canva and Adobe Express.

As a student in the Web Development class, it was a fun unique experience, working and interacting with the various groups associated to completely different aspects of the project provided us with a strong understanding of how to collaborate as a team, with each part of the business providing a unique perspective from each group that was as important to learn from. My group’s experience in making the website was eye opening into understanding AI tools when creating media, we had to be very descriptive in terms of what we wanted to create with the current form of AI to get accurate images that weren’t distorted.

With the hard work of the teams working together, we welcomed guests into Humber college share our work, the process as well as the final results. Everyone showcased their projects to the guests alongside the process of how the team collaborated with one another, from idea creation to the use of AI in media and script development.
