Exploring Data-Driven Decision Making at NTN Bearing Corporation of Canada

A huge thank you to Paul Meo, Rita Payne, Lubnaa Aamirah, Kirtan Khajanchi, Loren Almeida, and Ken Wells for hosting us at NTN Bearing Corporation of Canada!

Students of our third year DIGI 3502 Database Systems course had the incredible opportunity to gain real-world insights into the power of database reporting tools, Power BI, and data visualization in a corporate setting. We learned how NTN leverages data analytics to drive decision-making and optimize business processes.

Proud Moment: Lubnaa’s Experience as a New Graduate

The highlight of our visit was seeing Lubnaa Aamirah, a recent graduate of our Digital Business Management program, apply the skills she developed in class within her current role as a Business Analyst. Her ability to translate data into actionable insights is a testament to the impact of hands-on learning and industry collaboration. Witnessing our students’ knowledge come to life in professional environments is always a proud moment!

This visit reinforced the importance of bridging academia with industry, giving students firsthand exposure to tools like Power BI and demonstrating how they can be used to create meaningful business solutions. We are incredibly grateful for the time and expertise shared by the team at NTN and look forward to more opportunities for collaboration.

Learning outside the classroom through site visits like this truly enriches the educational journey and inspires our students to think beyond the textbooks!
