Wrapping up the academic year with a WordPress-filled weekend in New Jersey!
From Classroom to Community: Empowering Business Students and Small Business Owners with
WordPress to Build Sustainable Online Presence
Attending and speaking at WordCamp Montclair 2023 for the first time was an unforgettable experience. I got to share highlights of two things I’m passionate about in my professional life: teaching & WordPress. I presented on my experience teaching the Web Development course, and reflected on its journey from the humble beginnings in HTML & CSS back in 2006 to the work we engage in today: with other Humber programs and industry partners, as well as the international project we’re most proud of: EDC Kenya Entrepreneurship + Digital Livelihoods + Creative Arts: Socio-economic Empowerment of Women Refugees in Kenya. The presentation slides can be accessed in PDF format.
This was indeed a weekend full of inspiration, new connections, and ideas for upcoming semesters! The Digital Business Students Association team will be busy in the Fall!!
