Web Development Roles

The following are suggested roles for your final group project. You may suggest different roles based on the scope of your project, and the skill-set of your team members.

  1. WordPress Developer
    1. Setup and configure the website pages, blog, menu, widgets … etc
    2. Populate the website with content
  2. Designer
    1. Identify theme options, logo, and branding for the website
    2. Design banners and graphics needed for the website (explore Canva)
  3. Content Manager:
    1. Copy: identify keywords, develop and edit website content that is well optimized for search engines
    2. Media: prepare and upload media that is well optimized for search engines
      1. Manage photography / videography as needed
      2. Find stock images as needed (explore Unsplash)
      3. Edit, re-size, and rename images as needed based on SEO keywords
  4. Project Lead (needed for large projects only)
    1. Track progress of the project
    2. Conduct progress meetings
    3. Communicate with client on behalf of the group
