Congratulations Lauren Ashmore on pursuing your MBA at The DeGroote School of Business – McMaster University!
Lauren graduated from Humber’s Digital Business Management – Bachelor of Commerce program in 2018, and from Humber’s Film and Television Productions Advanced Diploma in 2011. During her four years in the Digital Business Management program, Lauren continuously participated in extracurricular activities and attended conferences and workshops such as Unbounce, participated in running Build Your Own Website workshop at Arts Milton. She also volunteered her time to share her experience through facilitating hands-on workshops such as Photoshop and video editing as part of TechWeek events. Lauren is an award recipient student and continues to give back and support our students and program, with the most recent being supporting the Digital Business Student Association’s Lunch with Grads initiative.
Along her work in the industry in the field of digital marketing, Lauren has been teaching cinematography at Humber since 2016, and was our Media Faculty Lead for the 2018/2019 Humber Online Solutions projects where she hired, coached and led five teams of Humber students as they produced promotional videos for small businesses in Toronto and the GTA, the projects were funded by Ontario Centre of Excellence and supported by Humber’s Applied Research & Innovation.
Lauren’s most recent work as a cinematographer is a documentary titled “Weekender”, funded by Canada Council for the Arts. You can watch the trailer, check the event page on Facebook, and watch the full movie at the Hamilton Film Festival on Friday, November 13th at 11pm on Cable 14.
Lauren is currently pursuing her MBA full-time at The DeGroote School of Business focusing on online marketing strategies, analytics, and data science, along with some soft skill courses such as managerial negotiations.
