I had the pleasure of presenting our EDC Kenya project at the Canadian Bureau for International Education CBIE 2022 Conference (Toronto 13-16 November 2022) along with Clarisse Estebar, and absolutely loved the in-person conference energy after over two long years of virtual events! Session Title: Experiential Learning Opportunities through International Development amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic

Session Description: This session will highlight how Humber College’s International Development Institute (IDI) created experiential learning opportunities for students through a current international development initiative, Entrepreneurship+ Digital Livelihoods+ Creative Arts Socio-economic empowerment of women refugees in Kenya (EDC-Kenya). By engaging a multi-disciplinary group of students in the initiative, the IDI was able to fulfill the initiative’s deliverables and create an international experiential learning opportunity for the students amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic. The session will highlight how students had the opportunity to apply technical skills and enhance cross-cultural competencies through international development despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 Pandemic.
